The challenge

The main challenges we are facing exist mainly apart of the ecological challenges and governmentally handling of waste management.

It’s about a lack of awareness and understanding in the Jordanian society about the importance of waste disposal let alone the general idea of recycling. We for example were facing wide spread reservations and refusal of a majority of the society towards somebody who is working with something generally considered as ‘trash’.

The good news is that all in all there has been a, but a very slow recognition of the importance of recycling in the past years in Jordan.

The deteriorating economic situation, high youth unemployment, a steadily growing refugee population are all aspects that make it difficult for people to focus on something else as their daily living.
